Romance is in the air, love is all around us, supermarket shelves are being cleared of boxes of chocolates and petrol stations of flowers. It must be that time of year again! Yup, Valentines is upon us and I have been contemplating a couple of potential wardrobe choices.

For a slightly more casual Valentines date outfit, I'd go for a less dressy jumper and jeans combo, while still keeping the traditional valentines colours and themes.

The heart jumper, perfect for celebrating the day of love, is JW Anderson for Topshop - a hand knitted gem for £70. For a cosy and romantic night I would team the red jumper with a simple pair of black skinny jeans (the ones here are from New Look, £9.99) so I could focus more on the gorgeous sparkly BabyCham wedges, available at Barratts for £20. I've finished off this outfit with a cute Wax Seal Necklace from Cheap Frills (£12) which come in any letter of the alphabet so you can get your true love's initial.

For those who make it our for a nice date this Valentines, you could do a lot worse than this red dress with thematic heart detail cut out from New Look (£22.99). I'd keep the rest of the outfit quite simple, with plain black bag (Accessorize, £8) and shoes (Barratts, £15), but throw on the heart bracelet (Love Culture, $8.90) for an extra Valentines detail.

Though my Valentines evening outfit is more likely to look like this

Heart Onesie - Boohoo £25.00

As I prepare to spend the evening cosy at home in front of the TV.

Hope you all have a lovely Valentines Day!

Topshop: The Debutante Collection

I'm very behind on posting - I still haven't caught up on life post-Christmas, but I thought I'd squeeze in the time to highlight some of the lovely pieces I've been eyeing up in Topshop's Debutante Collection.

This is ladylike dressing, but not as you know it! We're advocating sharply cut co-ords and collars in fabrics fit for a princess. Think opulent organza, lace and jacquard covered in our vivid new floral prints and embrace a romantic '50s silhouette. But remember, it's the little things that count so, don't miss the detail and stock up on catseye sunglasses, dainty brogues and a cute doctor's bag.

Here a a couple of my fantasy Debutante outfits for when the weather warms up:

Lace Collar Shell Top - £38 Hexagon Rimless Glasses - £14 Crochet Side Panel Shorts - £32 Ostrich Zip Around Holdall - £45 LATCH Cross Over Platforms - £58

Chinoiserie Flower Bomber Jacket - £45 Rectangle Stone Ring - £7.50 Floral Jacquard Origami Skirt - £40 JOLLIE Glitter Sole Heels £62

I must say, I'm loving the new collection, so feminine and romantic. What do you think? Have your eye on any of these?

New Years Eve Wishlist Outfit

The London Perfume Company and FD Avenue are holding an amazing giveaway, where you can win a mix of goodies by putting together a winning New Years Eve Party outfit!

Though I've seen (and taken part in) many of these challenges before, this one was interesting as it's the first one I've seen really include perfume. So bearing that in mind I took a slightly different approach to usual and chose my perfume first, and the rest of the outfit around that.

The first perfume that sprung to mine is not only one of my all time favourites, but one with a very distinctive look - Jean Paul Gautier's Classique. This is such a beautiful bottle and it evokes a certain sensuality. The London Perfume Company describe this as a 'seductive and daring perfume' and I wanted to capture that in my outfit.

Dress, Bag, Tights, Ring and Nail Polish all from FD Avenue, Perfume from The London Perfume Company

I loved this dress for the perfume as, while not a typical 'seductive' party dress, the figure-hugging style will accentuate any feminine curves in a way that mimics the perfume bottle, and the skull and roses print adds a slightly dangerous edge. The mock-suspender tights seemed like a perfect accompaniment to the mock-corset bottle, with a few splashes of red to provide a more 'daring' element.

Of course, this is nothing like what I actually wore for New Years Eve as I stayed in this year, drinking Baileys in my pyjamas!

The details for entering this competition can all be found here. There's not a lot of time left to enter so  best be quick if you want a chance of winning!

If you have already entered then please leave links to your outfits - I'd love to see what you came up with!

Hello ladies (and gentlemen?)

I hope everyone's had a lovely Christmas! I've been enjoying some lovely down time, spending time with my lovely family and not being at work!

A-Z of Fashion: H

If you've not already seen me struggling my way through this A-Z, I'm referring to the one issued by Glamour Magazine that you can find here. H, they tell us, is for Heels, and to achieve the seasons key footwear look "Wear heels that have a chunky or kooky heel. Pencil-thin stilettos are not in favour this season."

For me, when I think of 'shoes' and 'kooky', I think 'Irregular Choice', and LGJGthe heels on both these pairs are fantastic! I love how the printed heels on 'Krazy Karen' really alter what would otherwise be quite a simple (though still very pretty) pair of shoes, and how the heels on 'I'm Bossy' add to a wonderfully whimsical design.

Interesting heels are also available from the usual high street suspects, such as these from Topshop - the metallic pointed heel of the Plasma shoes (£95), and the highly decoraticve laser cut Lily Wing Courts by CJG (£130).

A couple of cheaper alternatives for the animal print lover, the Ruby Rocks snake trim heels (£40), available from Barratts, and the leopard print block heels from New Look (a bargain at £10!).

Christmas Jumpers!

I'm starting to feel so so Christmassy! The tree is up, presents are bought and (some of them are) wrapped, and I'm working through my Christmas film list. To celebrate the joys of the season, here are a few of my favourite Christmas jumpers!

Cat Jumper - New Look £16.99   Snowman Hoodie - New Look £16.99   Green Reindeer Jumper - Dorothy Perkins £30   Grey Snowflake Jumper - Dorothy Perkins £28   Candycane Jumper - Topshop £50   Wine Festive Jumper - Oh My Love £27.30   Reindeer Jumper - Daisy Street £23.99

I love Christmas, and I love a good Christmas jumper - cosy and fun and just a little bit ridiculous, the best things about Christmas in an item of clothing!

A-Z of Fashion: G

Glamour Magazine's A-Z of winter fashion trends tells us that G stands for Gloves - "The longer, the better. Elbow-length leather ones are the It-accessory of the season."

I don't think Glamour were referring to the multi-coloured knitted versions of gloves I like in this weather, but an altogether more sophisticated affair. If you want to look classy yet warm this season, here are a couple of good options:

The first pair are from Marks and Spencer (£69) and come in black as well as the colour shown. A slightly cheaper alternative, the middle ones are from ASOS as £33.50, and the Debenhams ones (£25) are velvet for a softer alternative to leather.
